Majulah Singapura // SG50

Hello!!! I decided to update once more before I fly to Bangkok on Wednesday (cos if not my posts will keep snowballing and i will forever have posts overdue) hahaha. So there wasnt anything to update about July beside the fact that it was the last month of my internship and that I managed to get some tickets to watch the National Day Parade rehearsal on 7th July thanks to Amanda!!! Forever grateful hahaha :') Cos I was pretty upset that I didnt get the tickets through the ballot and I rly wanted to watch the parade at the Padang.

It was a very last minute thing because Amanda only informed me that she had extra tickets for me a day before but obviously I was so happy that I said yes immediately!!! Then I cancelled the plans I had that day but it was sososo worth it hahahaha. Had to get the tickets from her at 4pm+ and head over to the Padang!!! The tickets were for the North sector so throughout the whole parade, we were looking from the right side LOL but rly cannot ask for more because at least I wasnt facing the baskside ahahahaha. Those who got to see the parade from the front were the VIPs and im no VIP hahahaha. We got seated at around 4:45pm?

DAMN GAY HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The parade started at 5pm!!! I was so freaking excited/cooperative throughout the whole thing like they say take out flag and wave then I will it then ask me shake the balloon thing then I do HAHAHAHAHA I felt damn patriotic ok and the only thing that I was short of was a red tshirt hahahaha. I refused to wear the BA one so I wore a white tshirt instead.

Lemme try to recall everything in sequence with the help of the photos ok hahaha. There were artists performing local songs here and there throughout the whole parade. The red lions jumped at 5:45pm and it was the first part of the show!!! Next, it was the SAF Military band that performed with the Precision Drill Squad I think (PDS knowledge was from secondary school hahaha). This year was different, because suddenly the people/soldiers/performers put their instrument down and whip a china-like fan out to perform some dance HAHAHAHAHA

It was the LKY tribute video where I teared quite alot :( Somemore, there was a flower on the seat that he was supposed to occupied. Following that was a performance where I think was like the Malays inhabiting Singapore then the Chinese came after that and it was all before Sir Stanford Raffles found Singapore.

And now to my favourite part of every NDP, the marching segment!!! It was very special also cos SG50 ma. So they had this vintage parade where all the old soldiers/people wear their old uniform and march. Really can see until 警察穿短裤(police wear short pants) HAHAHAHAHA. Then got those PA association I think and POSB people and  白衣天使 (nurses cos they wear all white last time one) and SIA girls which I rly cant tell the difference between the old and new uniform cos it looks the same?! Hahahaha

After they finish and left, the SAF and the other association contingents and the school uniform groups started marching in!!! I heard Aneeta (our team's PA lady) was marching for the Changi contingent but also cannot even try to spot her cos too far hahahaha.

Oh and this year alot of those airforce airplane performances which is damn cool!!! They formed the '50' sign then do alot of other tricks also. Got alot of fighter planes and even helicopters!!! I see newspaper then they say all the different models but I obviously dont know shit la hahahahaha. All i do is go 'wahhhhh so nice' like everyone else.

After that, it was all the tanks and those land fighting things which i dont know anything about too hahahaha It was all the military vehicles then after that was Navy I think. I not sure if it was before the land vehicles display or after but I couldnt see it anyway. Got the Police force and SCDF after the army one. That one I know ok - police cars and fire engines HAHAHAHAHA but alot different models also omg hahahaha.

All the way were performances already which I enjoyed alot more than the previous year(s)!!! But it was rly damn good hahaha. Maybe all the ideas save for this year cos SG50. First was this whole group people people that can change colour. I have no idea how many layers they wear but the formations were damn cool. They formed a Chinese word, an Indian word and a Malay word. All got different meaning one, which I cannot remember already hahaha oops. And like what I said, I see from the left so I couldnt decipher what they were doing until I look at the screen.

Second performance was people pushing all the iconic Singapore things LED statues out like the Merlion and the Changi Control Tower and the durian and the crab etc. Third was these adorable kids!!! They wore this LED suit which made a stickman when they off all the lights omg. And they can change colour one hahahahaha. I spotted this teacher/person who was running around to help those kids change back their colour when they accidentally click and change to another colour omg so cute hahahahahaha. Then they always have someone who isnt the same colour one hahahahaha.

Songs were performed here and there throughout the whole parade and I didnt note down when they did cos ya hahahahaha. I remember The Sam Willows performed 'Home' at the start then Kit Chan performed 'Home' again at the middle part before the performances and JJ Lin performed 'Our Singapore'. It ended around 8:30pm with fireworks hehehe. Brendan and I wanted to wait until everyone was gone before we left but we got chased out :( hahahaha

On 7th, I decided that I want to go the Artscience Museum for the exhibitions because I already long ago want to go and free what so why not. The black knights also had their aerial display on that few days and I rlyrly wanted to watch it. I didnt expect Marina Barrage to be so freaking far so on the way there, it started and it was so crowded and hot. But I was so happy I managed to see it!!! Headed to Suntec for lunch before going to MBS for the exhibition. Guess what, the queue was cut already when we reached there. It was only 3pm and the last admission was 6pm. So the last person in queue had to queue for 3 hours, WHAT??

On the 9th, I brought my mum to Marina area to watch the aerial display at 12pm!! Im so happy she enjoyed it because I did. And this time, it was at another spot. Spent the whole day not doing anything and watched the parade on TV at night hahahaha

Ok, this is probably one of the longer posts in awhile!!! I'll be back pretty soon, goodnight x
